Anika Muliolis

counselor trainee; (sHE/Her)

I believe that therapy is a collaborative space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to reconnect with your strengths and values, even amid physical or emotional pain.

I like to take a collaborative, person-centered and integrative approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that each individual is the expert in their own lives. I also understand that our individual identities, cultural backgrounds, and lived experiences shape how we move through the world, and impact us in our daily lives, and I aim to honor these contexts in a manner that is culturally responsive, curious, and compassionate.

I am especially passionate about working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and the emotional toll that can come with ongoing stress or health challenges. I am additionally excited about working with young adults who are in the process of figuring out who they are, what they value, and how to move forward through the uncertainty that often accompanies major life transitions in a way that feels meaningful and authentic.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

I received my bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Psychology, and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capital University. I am currently a Counselor Trainee under the supervision of Meredith Voorhees, LPCC-S.

My therapeutic style is rooted in Person Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy, predominantly utilizing values-based work to help clients build psychological flexibility and build up a toolbox of coping strategies to help in leading a life characterized by healthy alignment with what matters most. Across all modalities, my overall goal is to cultivate a space that feels supportive, nonjudgmental, and compassionate.

I incorporate evidence-based approaches including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Existential Therapy

  • Mindfulness-based approaches
