I believe therapy should be a space where you can be honest, understood, and accepted—while learning to better understand yourself.
Hello! I’m Ruth, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. I take a warm, client-centered approach to therapy and believe that every person brings their own story, experiences, strengths, and challenges into the therapy room.
I believe that developing a healthy relationship with yourself can create the foundation for healthier relationships with others. My goal is to help clients slow down, gain insight into their thoughts and patterns, and better understand who they are beneath the expectations and pressures of everyday life.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, primarily incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while drawing from other therapeutic techniques based on each client’s unique needs. I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to the individual—not a one-size-fits-all experience. And while therapy can involve meaningful and difficult work, I also believe there is room for a little humor along the way.
I approach therapy with an awareness of intersectionality—the ways that different aspects of a person’s identity, such as culture, race, gender, family, relationships, beliefs, and life experiences, can overlap and influence their experiences. I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, heard, and free to explore these parts of themselves without judgment.
Whether working with an individual or a couple, I hope to help clients move toward greater self-understanding, healthier connections, and meaningful healing while feeling supported along the way.
