Regina Neiheisel
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL COUNSELOR (SHE/HER)
Life can be full of hardships, but I believe everyone has the strength and resilience to grow, change, and create a more meaningful life.
I meet you where you are and work alongside you to uncover and strengthen these abilities. I strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages trust, honest communication, and self-compassion. My therapeutic style is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but I recognize that every client is unique. I work to tailor treatment to each person’s needs, drawing on the approaches and interventions that best support their goals, strengths, and lived experiences.
TRAINING & EDUCATION
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University (2022). I completed my clinical internship at the Wright State Counseling Center, where I gained experience supporting adults across the lifespan. While I enjoy working with clients of all ages, I do my best work with emerging adults and college students as they navigate periods of transition, identity development, and significant life changes. I received my bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Missouri. During my time at Mizzou, I trained and volunteered at the Missouri Crisis Line, providing support to individuals in acute emotional distress. I also have specialized training and experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence. I have a passion for working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, PTSD, OCD, intimate partner violence, personality disorders, and life transitions.
I specialize in the following modalities:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness Practices
Distress Tolerance Skills
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
