Emilio Irizarry

Licensed professional counselor; (HE/Him)

My goal is to help you build a stronger relationship with yourself, deepen your connections with others, and create a life that feels authentic to who you are.

My style is genuine, collaborative, and direct. I care deeply about my clients, but I also believe growth requires honesty.

I have experience working with depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, LGBTQ+ issues and personality-related challenges, including extensive work with individuals living with Borderline Personality Disorder.

My work is grounded primarily in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe meaningful change comes from learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions without letting them dictate your life, while making choices that align with your values. I also integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally-Focused Therapy, tailoring my approach to each client's unique needs.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from Ohio University. I furthered my education with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capital University. I am currently under the supervision of Meredith Voorhees, LPCC-S.
