Madeleine Stover
counselor trainee; (sHE/Her)
Our lives are a series of expansions and contractions; creating more awareness around how those cycles show up for us empowers us to live more authentically.
I utilize symbols, metaphors, archetypes, humor and curiosity to create more clarity in understanding how you are digesting your internal and external experiences.
I approach therapy through a lens which blends the somatic, cognitive and spiritual experience of being a woman. The body tends to hold what the mind could not. Creating a safe space to feel into what may need to be given a voice and moved is often an imperative component of healing. It is my honor to be a compassionate & nonjudgemental witness to whatever comes up to the surface.
TRAINING & EDUCATION
I hold a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, and I’m currently earning my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capital University. I am certified in somatic trauma resolution specifically for the female nervous system (a nervous system highly influenced by the fluctuations of our hormones) and can incorporate this in our work together if that is your jam. I have a longstanding meditation practice and have completed more than 600 hours of personal practice, which continues to inform my clinical work with clients. I am currently under the supervision of Meredith Voorhees, LPCC-S.
I incorporate evidence-based approaches including:
Parts Work
Mindfulness
Trauma Informed Somatic Work
Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
