Jo Ogilvie
Licensed social worker; (they/she)
I aim to create safe, empathy-filled spaces where people can be vulnerable, authentic, accountable, and liberated.
I am passionate about social justice, access to care, destigmatization, decolonization, and cultural awareness. I believe clients are experts in their own lives. Through a collaborative, trauma-informed lens, I hope we can start to navigate any challenges or unmet needs together.
My specialties include working with clients who are dealing with depression, complex trauma, identity loss/changes, relationship challenges, Autism/ADHD, grief, anger, and personality disorders. I do my best work with both young and older adults, and with those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
My counseling style encourages a whole-person, trauma-informed approach, meeting clients where they are and tailoring care to their needs, including incorporating humor when appropriate. My philosophy is that my humanity is tied to yours, and I carry this with me throughout my practice.
